Kristine Steinsland and Danielle Grant are currently onboard the icebreaker RV Kronprins Haakon in the cold Arctic. They have joined a cruise led by J. Knies from the Centre of Arctic Gas Hydrate, Environment and Climate (University of Tromsø). AGENSI started on 1 August 2019. One of the first actions was to collect new sediment samples in the Arctic. From 8 to 13 August, Stijn De Schepper joined the Norwegian Polar Institute’s cruise onboard RV Helmer Hansen to Kongsfjorden (Svalbard) and the Fram Strait. Together with a team of NPI geologists, we collected three multicores in Kongsfjorden and surface sediments from several locations.
